On stage

Not another hour about "embracing change."

Tom challenges audiences, makes them laugh at themselves and leaves them looking at their work differently. Big rooms, small rooms, leadership offsites and main stages.

Keynote topics
  1. 01

    Failure Killed My Ego

    "Let's stop pretending we're fearless."

How fear of failure makes capable people shrink, protect themselves, avoid intelligent risk and prioritise looking competent over learning — and what it costs innovation and culture.

  2. 02

    Pissing Off Your Potential

    "Your potential is fuming."

The uncomfortable gap between what people are capable of and how they actually behave. Comfort, growth, self-awareness and what it takes to stop drifting.

  3. 03

    Not Waving, But Drowning

"What leaders ignore emotionally, organisations pay for operationally."

Emotionally tone-deaf leadership and the cost of failing to notice what's happening beneath the surface.

  4. 04

    Leaders, Dinosaurs & Rebellion

"Experience is not the same as evolution."

Why leadership behaviours that once worked quietly become liabilities — and why leaders need to keep evolving, not just accumulating experience.

Bespoke talks are built around behaviour, leadership, failure, uncertainty, human performance and the future of work.

What audiences leave with
  • A shared language for the things nobody's been saying.
  • Permission to talk about fear, failure and ego at work — properly.
  • One specific thing to do differently in the next conversation.
  • A room that's still talking about it at dinner.

His delivery style and presence are unmatched — as is his energy.
Chris W.Operations Director, Technology sector
“Hinesight designed a leadership day for around 50 of our leaders. Tom created an inclusive, energetic and genuinely challenging environment, and brought our organisational strategy to life through activities that made people own it rather than just hear it.”
Jon CloverManaging Director, Spire Healthcare
“A professional, collaborative partnership from start to finish. Participant feedback was fantastic — the development was immediately applicable, and Tom's energy and enthusiasm made it engaging and thought-provoking. We'd work with Hinesight again without hesitation.”

Biography

Tom Hines is a behavioural performance consultant, leadership development specialist and founder of Hinesight. He has spent more than 15 years in learning, leadership and people development across the UK, US and Middle East.

His work explores a simple, stubborn question: why do capable people keep doing things they know aren't helping them? On stage he's informal, challenging, warm and very hard to ignore.
